A Short Note About Me

As a spirited soprano with 20 years’ experience performing on local and international stages, I guide students to:

  • discover and master their voice

  • develop a lifelong love of music

  • build self confidence in every aspect of their lives

My Journey

I began studying vocal performance at Texas Christian University. After raising 4 children, I returned to music , completing my Bachelor of Music at Ambrose University and training with acclaimed vocalists Leon Leontaradis and Michelle Minke.

Audiences recognize me as a regular performer with Cowtown Opera, appearing in such productions as “The Magic Flute” and “Revenge of the Bat”, “La Boheme”, and “Sing Along With Mary (Poppins)”,  as well as numerous cabarets and Pop-Up Opera performances. I was privileged to play Mabel in “Pirates of Penzance” with Ambrose University.

In 2014, I had the honour of touring Austria and Spain as a member of the Ambrose Chamber Singers, an auditioned chamber choir. I have also performed with several of Calgary’s most esteemed groups, including VoiceScapes and the Calgary Concert Opera Company. Later, I also had the privilege of playing Jessie Bond in “Sullivan and Gilbert” with Morpheus Theatre and being a part of the chorus in Calgary Opera’s production of “Die Zauberflöte”.

I presented at the Alberta Choral Federation’s Research Conference and the Ambrose Research Conference and served as an adjudicator at NATS Songfest and the Alberta Finals of the World Karaoke Championships.

As A Mentor

My experiences as a musician have given me the strength to believe in myself. From performing in front of international audiences to returning to university as a mature student, singing empowers me to take risks, welcome challenges and live boldly.

That is why I teach — not only to enable students to master their voice, but also to help them gain confidence in themselves.

After more than a decade of teaching, my greatest satisfaction comes when my students achieve goals they hadn’t thought possible — whether successfully preparing for an audition, passing an RCM examination or simply rediscovering their joy of singing.
